Joanna Rieber started her powerlifting career in 2013 after a brief stint in bodybuilding.
She has gone on to claim the Canadian Open National 52 kg title 5 times and has broken many Canadian National records.
She has also had the opportunity to represent Canada many times at the World level. Most notably she won IPF Classic Bench Worlds in 2019 and then went on to win the IPF Classic Worlds 52 kg Master 1 Class in 2021 where she also took home the Best Master Lifter title.
She continues to lift and learn a decade later. In her spare time she is a staff anesthesiologist and assistant professor at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and a mom to two teenage boys.
